There was something in the trees that was echoing the words that I was saying. There was something in the ground asking me if it could help in my decaying. There was something in the leaves healing my body. There was something in the wind that carried me on. There is something in your eye that flutters my heart, babe. There's a wrinkle in your smile, it's lovely. Your clatter is the sound I've fixed my clock to – oooo You're Saturn to my ring. My world surrounds you. There's something in the night that cradles me softly The guiding twinkle in my sky through pouring rain who beams into my world and brightens the blues who's laughter makes me sing then claps and sings too. There was something in the trees that was echoing the words that I was saying. There was something in the ground asking me if it could help in my decaying. There was something in the leaves healing my body. There was something in the wind that carried me on.

Here the ancient fog of fear divides and our innocent devices idle like a soaring light without regard for the dark Then "yay" we say, “What a beacon awaits awash in gleaming gold!? The glare, the glow!" As focus pulls from the beauty of the dark. Then harkened deep a holy yawn. The marching peaceful plea to god. “Our hope has come and gone!” No more a heavy sigh from darkness. And what a world to focus on; a floating dream to ponder. Off above the faded ground, listen from the dark. The dark, the darkness. Then echo bristling voices from deeply heaving heavy chests, "dreaming never dies". No, just one of many many deaths for darkness. And there they've heaped the light upon like a candle bested by the dawn. No use to shake a fist to offer dismay in name of dark. the dark, the darkness. And as the angles spread and sprayed the glare, Stood amazed to face the gates of fear that guide the passing moments rising high from fading darkness. And those tangled in the writhing light Those too naive to unite with the best and blessed content to fight, Sigh, "what good again was the dark?" the dark, the darkness.

Together a culture of love will swell. Move as one, a wave, a sea of love. And it only matters if we say it does. Move as one. A sea of love. But it only lasts as long as it does if we move as one. A wave. And we'll only last as long as we love. A sea of love Together a culture of love will swell. Move as one, a wave, a sea of love.

I walk down the street and everyone's smiling like I'm holding a mirror up as I'm watching the sky or walking round all the paperback aisles hoping to see the thing I've been trying to find I'm determined to find something happy inside something happy inside I can finally believe in But it's like I'm in a dream when everyone's smiling and I'm naked, blushing red, just trying to hide wandering round with a paper-bag on only over my head, just to cover my pride I'm determined to find something happy inside something happy inside I can finally believe in something happy inside something happy inside I walk down the street and everyone's smiling like I'm holding a mirror up as I'm watching the sky stumbling down to the place in my mind where all love begins, but when I arrive all the books are just barely out of reach the closed sign's still swinging dimly in the night so alone when you arrive you arrive just to find the closed sign's still swinging dangling on a line its tipsy shadow keeping time to a rhyme from inside my silent voice has been singing I'm determined to find something happy inside something happy inside I can finally believe in something happy inside something happy inside yeah everything's fine

Rise and shine wipe the dreamin' from your mind and forget all the little messes left behind shake loose the ties that bind Rise and shine and spring to life time it right and catch the sunrise through the trees set your burden free be what you be when the sun arrives Don't cross your T's or dot your I's don't let worry bog your mind climb a tree and you will find trees are there for you to climb so climb up high and sing the lines you'll be seein' things in a different light In a different light In a different light In a different light In a different light Rise and shine and spring to life time it right and sift pink sunlight through your fingertips and it's a holy sight, you diffusing light as the sun arrives

I heard the wind rustlin' all around the leaves I saw the trees bowing gentlemanly Lovesick chimes, clumsy kissin' like a teen dream Sat there convinced that it was all arranged for me Losin' myself Losin' LoooLosin' myself I saw the dust calmly darkening the sky Aloft the leaves glide and float to where they lie The smell of rainclouds sends the kids inside to watch the water fill what once was brittle and dry Losin' myself Losin' LoooLosin' myself I felt the wicker pressing soft against my spine I heard my watch ticking but lost all track of time I remembered the rhythm of a poem my grandma used to rhyme Not sure what brought that memory back into my mind I'm feelin' the seedlings of unspent energy bouncing off of everything, vibrating through me sending my head in the clouds to be shedding my leaves feelin' the tree rings in my body casting their spells Losin' myself Losin' myself LoooLooosin' myself

Wesley 02:05
Eyes closed barely dawn Where has my dog gone The space where he belongs still warm but he ain’t on it Oh no where’d he go Hey Wesley come inside I need you in the morning Your excitement gets me by Once you’re finally in my arms You settle down I’m calling for my boy to come my way Looking all around frantic, Yelling out his name If I woulda walked you more would you have stayed? Coulda held him closer, coulda just shut the gate Once he’s finally in my arms I can settle Now I can barely calm my heart Once he’s finally home I’ll remind myself everything’s alright and then forget we were apart But Oh no - I'm I’m calling for my boy to come my way Looking all around helpless, yelping out his name If I woulda walked you more would you have stayed? If I woulda held you closer and been more present on the lazy days? Once.... you’re finally in my arms I can settle down Once.... you’re finally in my arms I can settle down Once you’re finally in my arms I can settle down

And then all the wet and ruffled feathers fly through the soft beguiling morning dew. And like the touch we touched when once unruly and knew the warm and ever-present wonder once we grew the courage to. “So why not listen from the dark as I've been; Just beyond the pink horizon? But try not to tempt a little light to shine in.” why not? Cuz it's the same fate too for our elusive truths; Those that danced on toes across the ghostly darkness; Truths that glances couldn't quite hold in view long enough to trust our hunches. And as the horizon nears us clapping thunder, awe to feel in every new boom utter doom defying you to wise up. “Wise up and listen from the dark as I've been Just beyond the pink horizon. But try not to tempt a little light to shine in.” why not? - - - Don't let the brittle light divide you

Standing beside you, head on your shoulder. Our legs touch and minds wander. Leaves laugh at the way the wind's breathing. A bird laughs too. Standing beside you, wrapped round your waist. Knee high grass tapping at our legs. Leaves laugh at the way the wind's breathing. A stream laughs too. I listen for raindrops you know, but I can hear laughter too. You know I listen for raindrops but I can hear laughter too. You know. You know I'm standing beside you, feet touching yours. My blood warms and I know I listen for raindrops you know, but I can hear laughter too. You know I listen for raindrops but I can hear laughter too. You know. You know. You know. When they're sending rain from high above On the riverbanks we're laughing All this beauty suits you, love.

about

Cal Wilson Vancouver, Washington

I'm a bedroom songwriter, composer, producer looking to explore the boundaries of creation from under my blankets.

"Cult of Love" was human created.

"Sleeping in the Gateway" is part of an ongoing project of research and dialog with my computer via GPT-2 for text and Google Magenta for midi. Each of these songs was partially generated by an AI, then I re-composed, arranged, and produced them.
